YOUR PRIVACY RIGHTS
Purposes. When collecting personal information, Viking will state the purpose of collection and will provide, on request, contact information for the Privacy Officer who can answer questions about the collection.
Viking will collect, use and disclose your personal information for the following purposes:
- to provide and administer products and services you request, and to disclose the information for any purpose related to the provision of requested products and services;
- for internal business purposes, including solving technical problems, calculating usage statistics, product development, and content improvement;
- to authenticate your identity;
- to provide personal information to third-party suppliers of products and services (as discussed in more detail below);
- to manage or transfer our assets or liabilities, for example, in the case of an acquisition or merger;
- to maintain accurate customer records;
- to protect us, yourself and others from fraud and error and to safeguard our business interests;
- to provide reports to credit bureaus;
- to collect debts owed to us;
- to comply with legal and regulatory requirements; and
- to distribute to third parties including financial institutions, payment processors, landlords, lawyers, financial institutions and government licensing bodies for any of the above purposes.
These collections, uses and disclosures listed above are a reasonably necessary part of your relationship with Viking. Viking may also collect, use and disclose your personal information to offer additional or alternate products and services to you and may add your personal information to customer lists for this purpose.
When your personal information is to be used for a purpose not previously identified, we will disclose that the new purpose to you before such use, and we will seek your consent unless the use is authorized or required by law.
Consent. Viking will obtain your consent to collect, use or disclose personal information except where Viking is authorized or required by law to do so without consent. Consent can be express, implied or given through an authorized representative (such as an attorney or agent). Consent may be provided orally, in writing, electronically, through inaction (such as when you do not notify Viking that you do not wish your personal information collected/used/disclosed for various purposes after you have received notice of those purposes) or otherwise.
You may withdraw consent at any time, subject to legal, contractual and other restrictions, provided that you give Viking reasonable notice of withdrawal of consent. If you notify Viking that you withdraw consent, Viking will inform you of the likely consequences of that withdrawal of consent, which may include Viking’s inability to provide certain services for which that information is necessary.
Collection of Personally Identifiable Information. Viking may collect your name, initials, home address, other physical address, street name, city, state, zip code, e-mail address, telephone number, other identifiers that permit the physical or online contacting of a consumer. Viking may collect this information provided through our website, over the telephone, in product registration card submissions, to distributors or dealers of Viking products and services, at Viking Culinary Arts Centers, Viking subsidiaries or divisions (including but not limited to the Alluvian Hotel), sweepstakes or contests, advertisements, in connection with warranty service claims, tradeshows, in response to surveys, or in connection with direct sales to consumers. Viking’s web server collects and stores general information about you, including your Internet protocol address, the version of the web browser software you are using, the pages you visit and the Internet address from which you linked to our website. Viking may also collect information concerning your purchase or use of Viking products or services such as, but not limited to, the kind of product or service purchased and the product model or serial number.
Viking will not collect personal information indiscriminately but will limit collection of personal information to that which is reasonable and necessary. Viking will also collect personal information as authorized by law.
Limits for Using, Disclosing and Retaining Personal Information. Viking will only use your personal information for the purposes set out above and as authorized by law. Viking will destroy, erase or make anonymous records containing personal information as soon as it is reasonable to assume the original purpose is no longer being served by retaining the information and retention is no longer necessary for legal or business purposes.
Sharing of Personally Identifiable Information. Viking may share personally identifiable information with its service providers, affiliates, subsidiaries, or divisions, and with their officers, directors, employees, accountants, attorneys, and agents; with distributors or dealers of Viking products and services; with third-parties to comply with applicable laws or legal processes (including but not limited to subpoenas, interrogatories, requests for documents, and regulatory data requests); with third-parties to protect the rights or property of Viking; and with law enforcement, regulatory, and government authorities.
Security Measures. Viking implements security features to endeavor to prevent the unauthorized disclosure of, or access to, personally identifiable information. However, Viking cannot guarantee the confidentiality of any communication or information transmitted to or from Viking via the Internet, e-mail, or otherwise.
Opt-Out. Consumers may opt out of having personally identifiable information used by Viking or shared with third-parties to send marketing or promotional correspondence or material to the consumer, by contacting Viking’s privacy officer at the address below.

Your Privacy Rights. If you are a California resident, California Civil Code Section 1798.83 permits you to request information regarding the disclosure of your personal information by Viking to a third party for the third party's direct marketing purposes. Viking, does not share, sell, rent or trade your PII with any third parties for promotional purposes. To make such a request, please contact Viking using the contact information provided above. Requests received by Viking will be provided within a reasonable period following receipt.
Business Transfers. Viking may sell, transfer or otherwise share some or all of its assets in connection with a merger, reorganization or sale of assets, or in the event of bankruptcy. In such an event, our users’ personal information may be one of the assets transferred.
Review and Correction of Personally Identifiable Information.
You have a right to access your personal information held by Viking. Upon request via postal mail or e-mail to an address in the above paragraph and verification of your identity, Viking will provide your personal information under its control, as well as information about the ways in which that information is being used and disclosed.
Viking will make a reasonable effort to ensure that personal information we are using or disclosing is accurate and complete. If you demonstrate that information is inaccurate or incomplete, the information will be amended as appropriate. If appropriate, Viking will send the amended information to third parties to whom the information has been disclosed. If a challenge regarding the accuracy of personal information is not resolved to the consumer’s satisfaction, Viking will annotate the personal information under its control with a note that the correction was requested but not made.
Collection of Personally Identifiable Information from Children. Viking does not direct or target its website (or a portion of its website) to children, knowingly collect personal information from children, or knowingly market its products or services to children. No one under the age of 13 should submit personally identifiable information to Viking and/or the site. Links to Other Sites. Viking may provide links to other sites on the Internet, to which users of the Viking site are transferred.
